This kit ships activated for the Discovery I 1994–1998 300Tdi: the Discovery I systems unlock and the 300Tdi engine unlock. It's powered up and checked here before it leaves Lynchburg. Plug it in and go.

The Nanocom license belongs to the tool, not to a VIN. This kit works on as many 300Tdi Discoveries as you own — your truck, your buddy's truck, the one you're thinking about buying.

On a Discovery II, I'll help you use this tool — that's my truck. On a GEMS truck or Diesel, the authority is Blackbox's own documentation, videos, forum and support team, and they're very good at it. I won't pretend to be an expert on trucks I don't own.

Only if it has an automatic gearbox. Blackbox confirms the automatic-gearbox 300Tdi has an electronic throttle and an engine computer; the manual is mechanically injected, with a cable from the throttle pedal to the injection pump, and has no engine computer to read. Blackbox activates every kit with both unlocks, so a manual-gearbox truck's kit still carries the engine unlock; on that truck it reads the alarm, ABS and airbag.
Yes. The 10AS settings save to the SD card and load back, and Blackbox recommends that backup before any change.
Saving — fault codes, settings backups and logged data. Blackbox includes an SD card only with the 2005-and-later CAN BUS kits, so add a card of your own; on these trucks it needs no special folders.
