The Nanocom license belongs to the tool, not to a VIN. When you add a vehicle to the driveway, you don't buy a second Nanocom — you buy the unlock for that vehicle and enter it into the unit you already have. Your existing vehicles keep working. The new one appears in the menu.
On a Discovery II V8 that opens the Valeo body control unit (key programming, superlocking, the settings the truck was built with), SLABS ABS/traction control, ACE, the SRS airbag system, the automatic transmission, and live data from the Bosch V8 engine.
Which are you doing?
▸ Adding this truck to a Nanocom I already own
This vehicle uses two codes: the Disco II Systems unlock and the Bosch V8 engine unlock. Choose the option that matches what your Nanocom already holds and you are charged only for the code you are missing.
Added codes to your unit since you bought it? Go by what it holds now, not the kit it started as.
If you chose the wrong option: we see what your unit already holds. If you owe more, we contact you before issuing; if you paid too much, we refund the difference.
The Nanocom Unit ID box needs your unit's six-character ID. To find it:
Buying a kit in the same order? Enter NEW and we apply the code to your new unit.
If a vehicle reports "Function Locked" afterward, a code went into the wrong box — each code is numbered and has its own slot. Email us and we'll sort it out.
No. A Discovery II talks through either cable — the black CAN BUS cable or the green OBDII cable — so whichever one came with your Nanocom works.
Manuals and ECU guides for every vehicle are in our Nanocom Documentation Library.
Don't own a Nanocom yet? Start with a full Discovery II kit — V8 or TD5, whichever you have — and then add more capability if needed.
Yes. Every Discovery II sold in the US was a V8, and this covers the whole 1998–2004 run. The Td5 license is for the diesel.
It will clear them. More importantly, it reads the SLABS fault code that tells you why they lit - the exact fault cause (wheel sensor is most common - tells you exactly which wheel). Clearing the lights without fixing the cause just means they come back — usually right away.

The license lives in the Nanocom, not in a VIN. Add a truck once and use it on as many trucks of that model as you like. Add a different one to the driveway later and you buy a license, not a second Nanocom — and if your unit already talks to that truck's engine or body systems, you pay only for the part it's missing.
Buying a Nanocom at the same time?
Order the kit for your first truck — it's activated before it ships, and you can add a second truck right on the kit page. More than two? Add this license to the same order and enter NEW as the unit ID.
Not sure which engine management your truck has? Email extinct@extinctmotorsports.com and we'll confirm before you buy.
