The Nanocom license belongs to the tool, not to a VIN. When you add a vehicle to the driveway, you don't buy a second Nanocom — you buy the unlock for that vehicle and enter it into the unit you already have. Your existing vehicles keep working. The new one appears in the menu.
Extinct Motorsports is the Official US Reseller and US Service Center for Blackbox Solutions: you order here, and your code is checked, applied and supported from Virginia.
On a 1994–1998 Discovery I 300Tdi that opens the 10AS alarm and immobilizer, ABS/traction control, the SRS airbag system, and — with an automatic gearbox — fault codes and live data from the engine.
Which are you doing?
▸ Adding this truck to a Nanocom I already own
This vehicle uses up to two codes: the Discovery I Systems unlock and the 300Tdi engine unlock, and it talks through the green OBDII cable. A manual-gearbox 300Tdi has no engine computer, so it only ever needs Discovery I Systems. Choose the option that matches your gearbox and what your Nanocom already has, and you are charged only for what you are missing.
Added codes or the other cable since you bought it? Go by what your unit has now.
If you chose the wrong option: we see what your unit already holds. If you owe more, we contact you before issuing; if you paid too much, we refund the difference.
The Nanocom Unit ID box needs your unit's six-character ID. To find it:
Buying a kit in the same order? Enter NEW and we apply the code to your new unit.
If a vehicle reports "Function Locked" afterward, a code went into the wrong box — each code is numbered and has its own slot. Email us and we'll sort it out.
Only if your Nanocom doesn't have the green OBDII cable. The Discovery I talks through the green cable, and every P38 and Discovery I kit ships with it. If yours doesn't, choose an option that includes the green cable: it ships with your order, so you don't need to add the cable separately. Already have it? Choose the option that says so.
Manuals and ECU guides for every vehicle are in our Nanocom Documentation Library.
Don't own a Nanocom yet? Start with a full Discovery I kit — GEMS V8 or 300Tdi, whichever you have — and then add more capability if needed.
Only the Discovery I Systems unlock — the diesel engine unlock is the same one, and your unit already has the green cable Discovery I Systems needs.
With an automatic gearbox, only the 300Tdi engine unlock — your unit already has Discovery I Systems. With a manual gearbox, nothing: there's no engine computer to read, and your unit already covers the alarm, ABS and airbag.
Blackbox confirms it's mechanically injected: a cable runs from the throttle pedal to the injection pump, so there's no engine computer to read. The automatic-gearbox 300Tdi has an electronic throttle and an engine computer, and takes the engine unlock too.

The license lives in the Nanocom, not in a VIN. Add a truck once and use it on as many trucks of that model as you like. Add a different one to the driveway later and you buy a license, not a second Nanocom — and if your unit already talks to that truck's engine or body systems, you pay only for the part it's missing.
Buying a Nanocom at the same time?
Order the kit for your first truck — it's activated before it ships, and you can add a second truck right on the kit page. More than two? Add this license to the same order and enter NEW as the unit ID.
Not sure which engine management your truck has? Email extinct@extinctmotorsports.com and we'll confirm before you buy.
