Available Trucks – Bill
The Bones
The truck was a highly optioned 2000 with full winter package including the ultra luxurious heated windshield, 7 passenger option, SLS air ride system, and dealer installed wood dash trim. The truck was originally a lease vehicle and the 2nd owner purchased it off lease in 2004 with 40k miles. He detected an external head gasket leak almost immediately and had the dealer put NEW cylinder heads on it at 42k miles. Not much history on it after that until his estate sold it in 2024 and we acquired it through a local dealer the estate sold it to. The truck had mostly sat over those intervening 20 years accumulating only another 10k miles and was still in like new condition overall, especially the interior.
The Work
Underhood
Given the extremely low mileage and like new condition very little was done underhood other than installing the normal Extinct upgrades including the PCV mod, inline thermostat and coil relocation kit with new NGK spark plug wires as well as a fresh battery. New valve cover gaskets were installed due to the known age hardening of the OEM ones. The condition of all other components were closely inspection and should give excellent service for the next 50k miles or so when normal maintenance will start being needed (accessory pulley's, water pump, etc.) Full Details are shown in the attached build sheet
Driveline, Frame, Steering, Suspension, Brakes and Tires
Again, this truck was in like new condition so almost nothing was needed, however the ball join boots had disintegrated due to age so those were replaced. The frame interior and exterior were extensively coated with rust preventative coating layers consisting of Eastwood frame coating, followed by fluid film. The ABS option B mod shuttle valve switch with seal upgrade kit was installed to ward off future ABS fault errors. New Kumho tires were installed (full details listed on the attached build sheet). .
Exterior
Unfortunately the years had taken their toll on the this trucks exterior, so we did a complete repaint. The normal Extinct refreshing of bumpers, cowl, tail door bezel, and fender flares coated with bedliner was completed and a refinished OEM Front Brush guard was installed to match the factory safari tire cover.
Interior
Extinct interior restoration of proprietary sunroof panel leak sealing, sunroof motor lubrication, radiatant barrier installation, headliner board stain blocking coating (in case you forget and leave the sunroofs open) and custom water guttering mods, with new headliner fabric professionally installed. New shifter boots, subwoofers surrounds replaced, and all the window regulators are lubricated to prevent roller breakage.
